Monday’s Poor People’s Economic Human Rights Campaign march began peacefully and the cops had a good rapport with the protesters. That is, until we reached 23rd and Broadway. At dusk, as we neared Madison Square Garden, police reinforcements moved in from behind and the atmosphere became tense.
